Child Therapy
“Toys are children’s words and play is their language”
-Garry Landreth, author of Play Therapy: The Art of the Relationship
I am dedicated to my work with children and utilize therapeutic activities to help children increase self-awareness of thoughts, needs, and feelings, build social skills, and learn ways to better regulate their emotions. I incorporate expressive techniques including play, art, movement, sensory activities, and mindfulness.
My goal is to connect with both parent and child, build a child’s sense of self, and strengthen the relationships in a child’s life. I believe connecting with a child and truly entering their world will allow for an optimal place for learning and growth to occur. I am adamant about collaborating with parents, teachers, and other significant parties in a child’s life in order to create a lasting positive impact for a child.
